You might already know it - I´m addicted to coffee, shopping (especially shoes *grin*) and I´m a huge Simpson´s fan.

About 2 years ago The Simpsons Movie was announced in Germany (production, etc. ) - now, ages later… we´ve been out to have our yellow moments in feature-length! WOOT!!! Finally!!!

The Simpsons Movie

We´ve had a bunch of fun watching the full-length cartoon movie. My favorite character is Homer - obviously (see our daily moment of Homer J.), followed by Maggie, Bart, Mr Burns and all the other more or less yellow citizens of Springfield, Wherever, U.S.! I also like Waylon Smithers, he assistant of C. Montgomery Burns, lots. Since Smithers and Burns played a short guest part in The Simpson´s Movie, I decided to honor them bit in this TT. Some (gay) friends and me myself have asked ourselves often, if mr Smithers might be gay… Yeah, I know… it´s totally strange to consider about the sexual preferences of anybody, especially of a cartoon character, but we are a kind of strange clique *LOL* and we even investigated, presenting the results proudly *wink*:

13 hints Mr Smithers might be gay…
… and in love with Mr Burns

1.) When Lisa seeks Smithers for help in contacting the inventor of Malibu Stacey, Smithers gets the information from his home computer. When he turns the computer on, the computer screen shows a nude Burns that utters in broken English: “Hello, Smithers. You’re…quite…good…at…turning…me…on.” - plus Waylon owns the largest Malibu Stacey collection.
- Lisa vs Malibu Stacey

2.) When Burns fantasies about Marge, he asks Smithers about that dream where you’re in bed and they fly in through the window. Smithers groans with pleasure, imagining Burns himself flying through his bedroom window. Smithers says, “You’ve been reading my wishbook, sir.”
- Marge Gets a Job

3.)In a flashback, Smithers explains why he “couldn’t keep his marriage together.” In which his wife blames Mr Burns for ruining the relationship
- Secrets of a Successful Marriage

4.)Burns asks Smithers to take off his belt; Smithers replies, “with pleasure, sir.”
- Burns, Baby, Burns

5.)In a restaurant Smithers discovers John, who is an homosexual, eating dinner with the Simpson family, and becomes upset.
Smithers: “So this is your “sick mother”?”
John: “Don’t do this to me, Waylon.”
- Homer´s Phobia

6.)When Springfield Nuclear Power Plant is about to suffer catastrophic meltdown. Burns remarks “I guess there’s nothing left but to kiss my sorry ass good-bye.” Smithers asks, “May I, sir?”
- Homer Defined

7.) When a record thrown by Moe hits Smithers in the head, Smithers appears to get excited when he sees the record’s title “It’s raining Men.”
- Fear Of Flying

8.) During the “In the Navy” musical number, Smithers, for some reason, is seen dancing next to the Village People on top of a submarine.
- Simpson Tide

9.) Smithers is “caught on film” leaving a burlesque house. Burns demands an explanation; Smithers replies, “My parents insisted I give it a try.”
- Bart After Dark

10.) When Lisa’s message-rocket breaks into Mr. Burns’s office and lands in his suit, the old man tells Smithers he has “a rocket in my pocket.” Waylon’s knowing reply: “You don’t have to tell me, sir.”
- A Litthe Wiggy

11.) When Mr. Burns is shocked at “Hit Man” Hart’s “old man smell” remark, Smithers tells him he has an enchanting musk.
- The Old Man And The Lisa

12.) When Mr. Burns goes through his lunch, he comes across… “One jar of garlic pickles. No one will want to kiss me after these, eh Smithers?” to which Smithers replies “It’s their loss, sir.”
- D´OH-ing In The Wind

13.) In this episode, Smithers basically shows a lot of resentment towards Burns courting Marge’s mother. When Burns asks for help in composing a love letter, Smithers recites “`Darling one, read my words and hear my heart speak of a love soft and undying: a love that will be with you always. Sincerely,’ yatta, yatta, yatta.” Burns asks how he thought it up so fast. Smithers cries, “I sent it to you on your birthday! *sob* Excuse me, I have something in my eye!”
- Lady Bouvier´s Lover

Happy TT and thanks for stopping by,

And now…
… our moment of Homer J.:

Homer: There’s your giraffe, little girl.
Ralph Wiggum: I’m a boy.
Homer: That’s the spirit. Never give up.

Welcome to Manic Monday Edition #8:
CHIP(s)
After watching the Casino Royale Opening Credits I hope you are in the right mood for Poker.
We´ve bought a little Poker Set a few weeks ago, just for fun, to make sure some else we invite will be the looser, what means: has clean up the house, do the laundry and ironing *LOL* -
No Matt-Man, you didn´t show up, yet. So we didn´t play naked =)I prefer Texas Hold ´Em. If you are not familiar (but interested)– Here are the rules:

In Holdem, players receive 2 downcards as their personal hand (hole cards), after which there is a round of betting. 3 boardcards are turned simultanously (called the “flop”) and another round of betting occurs. The next 2 boardcards are turned one at a time, with a round of betting after each card. The boardcards are community cards, and a player may use any 5-card combination from the board and personal cards. A player may even use all of the boardcards and no personal cards to form a hand (play the board). A dealer button is used. The usual structure is to use 2 blinds, but it is possible to play with 1 blind, multiple blinds, an ante, or combination of blinds plus an ante.

1. ) If the 1st holecard dealt is exposed, a misdeal results. The dealer will retrieve the card, reshuffle, and recut the cards. If any other holecard is exposed due to a dealer error, the deal continues. The exposed card may not be kept. After completing the hand, the dealer replaces the card with the top card on the deck, and the exposed card is then used for the burncard. If more than one holecard is exposed, this is a misdeal and there must be a redeal.
2.) If the flop contains too many cards, it must be redealed. This applies even if it were possible to know which card was the extra one.
3. ) If the flop needs to be redealed because the cards were prematurely flopped before the betting was complete, or the flop contained too many cards, the boardcards are mixed with the remainder of the deck. The burncard remains on the table. After shuffling, the dealer cuts the deck and deals a new flop without burning a card.
4. ) If the dealer turns the 4th card on the board before the betting round is complete, the card is taken out of play for that round, even if subsequent players elect to fold. The betting is then completed. The dealer burns and turns what would have been the fifth card in the fourth card’s place. After this round of betting, the dealer reshuffles the deck, including the card that was taken out of play, but not including the burncards or discards. The dealer then cuts the deck and turns the final card without burning a card. If the fifth card is turned up prematurely, the deck is reshuffled and dealt in the same manner.
5. ) If the dealer mistakenly deals the 1st player an extra card, after all players have received their starting hands, the card will be returned to the deck and used for the burncard. If the dealer mistakenly deals more than one extra card, it is a misdeal.
6. ) You must declare that you are playing the board before you throw your cards away; otherwise you relinquish all claim to the pot.

Are you ready to get some chips and clean my home after loosing??? *LOL*

As promised today´s post deals with the second part of Rufus´ lovely Meme. Thereafter I´ll call it a day. We like to take Mr L out for a walk untli my parents come around to baby-sit this afternoon, because tonight we are happy to go clubbing due to Mr T´s birthday party… But, first of all:
Let´s talk about movies…

Movie Meme

1.)The last movie you saw in a theatre:
Sakrileg – The Da Vinci Code
I really enjoyed watching this movie! We watched it in the “Frankenheim” open-air-cinema next to the Rhine. The presentation started during sunset. The heaven was tinctured into a deep red. It was the perfect date, perfect location, perfect food and perfect movie. In my opinion Tom Hanks is able to play every part in any movie. This part was brilliant - again.

2. )A current-release you still want to see:
To tell the truth, this question rack´s my brain. At the moment, there is no “must-see” existing for me. But I´m dying to see The Devil Wears Prada as soon as it will be performed in Germany.

3.) A movie that made you laugh out loud:
Mmmmh, I have to mention 2 movies with Jack Nicholson in a star role:
As Good As It Gets with lots of memorable quotes like [Melvin Udall:"Where do they teach you to talk like this? In some Panama City "Sailor wanna hump-hump" bar, or is it getaway day and your last shot at his whiskey? Sell crazy someplace else, we're all stocked up here. " ] or ["People who talk in metaphors oughta shampoo my crotch..."]. Altough I am a girl, the quote I like most is the small-talk between Melvin and the receptionist ["How do you write women so well?" - "I think of a man, and I take away reason and accountability."]
The other film is Something´s Gotta Give. This is brillaint popcorn-entertainment as well. Both motion pictures are part of my favorite movies on DVD.

4.) A movie that made you cry:
The first movie I remember crying while watching was Schindler´s List. That movie tore me up.

5.) A movie that was a darling of the critics, but you didn’t think lived up to the hype:
Brokeback Mountain - I know, some people may want to revoke my Girl-Card for this pick, but it just didn’t do anything for me as a whole movie — once you got past that magical moment in the mountains, it was all downhill for me. Heath Ledger talking through clenched teeth throughout the movie bugged the wee-wee out of me.

6.) A movie that you thought was better than the critics:
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest - Come on, did anyone really go to see this movie expecting fine art? No, I went for a rollicking good pirate yarn with Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom. It delivered, and then some, in my opinion. Entertainment Weekly hated it. But I thought it was a great summer entertainment flick, and I’ll buy it on DVD.

7.) Your Favorite animated movie:
Of course: The Jungle Book… sooooo many childhood memories! To me, it is the greatest tale of friendship and adventure. Although almost every animated feature that was created during Walt Disney’s life is a classic, this one in particular holds a special place my heart. I guess, there isn’t a child alive who can see this movie and not want to be Mowgli. What a life it would be to live in the jungle, with friends like Baloo and Bagheera. It is every young child´s dream to be so free. I saw it growing up, and never forgot my memories of the movie, and the days afterward, singing the songs and dreaming of adventure. The music in The Jungle Book is some of the best in any Disney movie. “The Bare Necessities” is simply one of the best songs ever. Add in the fantastic animation and the characters that come to life. Who wouldn’t believe a bear could sing after seeing this?

8.) Your Favorite Disney Villian:
Ursula, the witchy octopus diva villian from The Little Mermaid. I always wanted a dress-maker to make an Ursula costume for me. If I’m gonna do mascerading for Halloween, why not animated octopussy villian?

9.) Favorite movie musical:
This is a tough one for me. I love musicals. I’ll have to say my top pick will be Little Shop Of Horrors. I like the songs (”Downtown” is one of my favorite songs from musicals), and I think that Rick Moranis, Ellen Greene and Steve Martin were fabulously cast in this movie.
But then again, I love The Rocky Horror Picture Show . Let´s get dressed like Dr. Frank´N´Furter and sing out loud:”It’s just a jump to the left… And then a step to the right… With your hands on your hips… You bring your knees in tight… But it’s the pelvic thrust… That really drives you insane… Let’s do the Time Warp again… Let’s do the Time Warp again…” And if you ever get time-warped life, don´t forget to carry a bumbershoot with you. Might be a helpful advice, especially in the event of sitting in the front rows… ;-)

10.) Favorite movies of all-time (up to five):
Oh, great… I get the possibility to complete the list I filled-up in a former Meme :-)
- I think my all-time favorite, that I can watch again and again has to be Cruel Intentions . Kathryn makes a bet that her step-brother, Sebastian, won’t be able to bed Annette (a virgin, who wants to wait until love). If he loses, Kathryn gets his Jaguar, if he wins, he gets Kathryn ["Stick in, wherever you want to..."]. A diverting story, a great cast and a wondrous soundtrack. It is an excellent teen flick which will have you feeling good from start to finish.
- Gone With The Wind ranks up there as an all-time fave as well. I guess, everyone has watched this American classic in which a manipulative woman and a roguish man carry on a turbulent love affair in the American south during the Civil War and Reconstruction.
- Next, I nominate all the movies made by Quentin Tarentino. No matter if producing or playing a part in the film. I really love his weird style.
- Sin City is also one of the movies I could watch over and over… A film that explores the dark and miserable southern town Basin City and tells the story of three different people, all caught up in the violent corruption of the city. *uuuuh… devilment*
- Got only ONE left??? *phew* I´m sorry, I can´t name only one. Mostly while watching movies I got the “problem” I wonder about the plot being too limpid. Such as regarding The Sixth Sense I guessed the close in a minute. So I prefer movies like The Butterfly Effect or Wild Things which are thrilling up to their end…
