I hope the Coffee-Auntie told you, I felt grumpy yesterday. So I was not in the right mood to fill-up this nice Meme. Today I am feeling much better, because most of the dander is no longer an issue.
This Meme comes in three different parts (books - movies - music). I´m going to compartmentalize (”Divide and conquer! *g*) and complete it day after day.
So, come on, folks - let´s play!
“Tag! I´m it!”
Book Meme
1.)One book that changed your life:
Okay, the hardest question first. I guess I have to mention The Bible - eligliable to every single poser of this meme. I´ll choose The Holy Bible in combination with Da Vinci Code
2.)One book that you’ve read more than once:
The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. This is one of my favorite books. It is a reminder to never grow up entirely. I confess, I can´t tarry to read it to Mr L.
3.)One book you’d want on a desert island:
The unofficial MacGyver How-To Handbook by Bret Terrill - hopefully it contains instructions “How to build a float from nothing”. In the 1st instance I thought about electing something of the Home Improvement production run, but by reason of Tim Taylor´s permanent failure, good old MacGyver seems to be the best choice… in order to prevent the float from sinking. ![]()
4.)One book that made you laugh:
Vollidiot by Tommy Jaud. This book was a lovely present I recieved from my good old friend, Mr O during my hospitalisation after Mr L´s nativity. The title adapts a programm: Simon Peters, the “hero” of this popcorn-literature suffers from unsolvable chain-linking problems… a very good laugh.
5.)One book that made you cry:
Probably every book I’ve read. Especially the ones written by Nicholas Sparks. I was teary-eyed through much Cuaderno De Noah. This book has been a great companion at the beautiful beach of Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. I had to wear sunglasses to hide my shed tears. Thereafter I gorged every single of Sparks´books, e.g. Message In A Bottle.
6.)One book that you wish you had been written:
Soloalbum by Benjamin von Stuckrad-Barre -
“It’s hard enough sitting there
Rockin’ in your rockin’ chair
It’s all too much for me to take
When you’re not there…”
This book is crowed with black humor and anmosity. My suggestion to everyone who has not seen the brilliant movie based on this novel yet: First of all enjoy this book. If you are a smirkey, you WILL love it, I promise.
7.)One book you wish had never been written:
Mein Kampf by Adolf Hitler - I guess there is no further comment needed.
8.)One book you’re currently reading:
Meteor by Dan Brown - I have finalized the Brown-serial afterwards, devouring each book.
9.)One book you’ve been meaning to read:
Catch 22 by Joseph Heller’s. It was a random pick that chose those two. There are MANY books I’ve been meaning to read.
10.)One book you would give to everyone if you were rich:
It’s a tie between Der alte Mann und das Meer by Ernest Hemingway, Salz auf unserer Haut
by Benoite Groult and a blank notebook to write one’s own thoughts in.
