Welcome to my 4th Tackle It Tuesday Edition

Today: Buying 2 new harddisks and reinstalling EVERYTHING *sigh*I haven´t posted since Saturday night - unusal for me. The reason? Life is a bitch sometimes. After our broadband connection returned from vacation my notebook decided to be in need to take a break… and force me to start onr of my biggest TITs: Sanni has to buy a new harddisk and (re-)install everything. We´ve bought the MAC book Pro last December after my good old notebook suicided. My new friend came with an 120GB harddisk… not too small, but since I own many programs for windows-based programs I needed a possibiltity to run them on my MAC. Apple has switched to Intel Core processors some months ago - it´s possible. I also wanted to use the vantages of MAC (e.g. safer surfing, some of the need progz like iphoto, itoast, etc.) so I was in need to partition the harddisk.

I was busy as a bee filling both partitions…
HA! Done!
I had to dump some progz and release some files from stock to keep my MAC working. Well, I realized I was in need of those files which I saved to disk - always *LOL* Doesn´t make sense… and since my MAC went on strike Saturday night I knew I had to buy a new harddisk. It´s a 160GB S-ATA Samsung harddisk - and an S-ATA USB apapter to connect the “old” 120 GB harddisk. I´ll store my photos, music, videos and html/xml-documents there.

You may ask yourself: “Why did she buy two new harddisks?” Well, the harddisk in Frank´s computer needed to be replaced, too. So we´ve done everything decribed in the following twice.

Till now I have reformated the disk from FAT32 into NTFS (to enable my firewall and the anti-virus program), installed MAC OSX, bootcamp and WIN XP Pro, all the other useful progz like Adobe CS2, Macromedia Studio 8, Firewall, Anit-Virus, text editors, Nero, Picture Package, MS Office Outlook, etc.

The browsers are installed (IE, Mozilla Firefox, Opera, Netscape - to test my layouts [blogs and homepages] ) - I prefer Mozilla =)

I´ve downloaded and set-up the free tax-programs I´ll need for my next big TITs: the annual tax declaration *EWW*.

My fonts, bookmarks and mails are imported… but I forgot one thing: to install some drivers (digi- and video camera) That´s why it´s impossible to show the pictures of me incorporating the new harddisk on my own - unbelievable, but true. I´ve done it by myself, although I´m all thumbs in technical things. ;)

I´ll try to post some pictures later… after sunset. The weather is too brilliant to stay at home!

Welcome to my 3rd Tackle It Tuesday Edition

Today: Multi-Tackling
I was really really busy for this TIT - edition. The patio:
The patio is prepared for summertime: I got rid of the sear plants, cleaned up everything, put the bast rug onto the floor and the grill is ready. The reward: We´ve had a tasty BBQ.

Luis sleeping room:
I rearranged the sleeping room. The bed´s on the other side of the window. My former nursing-chair is next to his bed. So we have a comfy corner to read bed-time-storries to Luis. The closet has moved to the former nursing-corner.

The Easter-decoration:

It´s done =) - I furbished the windows before and rearranged some parts of the living room while I prepared everything for Easter. Of course the “Happy-Easter”-cards were designed, printed and sent, too.

Our “Happy Easter” - cards:

“Frohe Ostern” means “Happy Easter” in German.

Last but not least I created a new layout for my blog. “Spring has sprung” @ Coffee2go. You can have a look at the winter-template below:

*Phew* - That was exhausting, but so much fun =)

Welcome to my 2nd Tackle It Tuesday Edition

Today: A play corner for Luis
We purchased a flexible play-pen on ebay last December. I thought it would be very handy to have a play-pen we can use in many different variations. Well, I knew our little varmint is veeeery powerful, but I didn´t expect him to be thewy enough to push and pull the fexible play-pen through the whole living-room. But that´s exactly what he did. Due to security reasons we couldn´t use the way too felxible play-pen =)
It´s fixed now. I layed two packages of this colorful funny puzzle carpet on the floor and put my good old beanbag inside. Luis had “annexed” the beanbag some months ago… it´s his favorite place to have a nap, to climb up and down… I guess it´s no longer my beanbag *giggle*. So: I put HIS good old beanbag inside, added this treasue chest, filled the treasure chest with some toys and arranged some other toys at the railings to get the whole thing more colorful. We invited Luis to test his new play corner… he loves it =)It took Luis about 6 seconds or so to transform the play corner into a very colorful mess *LOL*
Getting started with the tackles was so much fun, especially the finishing. I´ve had a great feeling of getting something done. So I started with the next tackle right after I arranged the play corner. The patio… it has to be cleaned and prepared for the summer… including decoration and planting flowers. Maybe I´ll get it fixed today… then I´ll post the before/after pictures… or next week =) … and the Easter decoration… and the “Happy Easter”-cards… and the furbished windows *twink*
