[Do they know...
It's Christmastime; there's no need to be afraid
At Christmastime, we let in light and we banish shade
And in our world of plenty we can spread a smile of joy
Throw your arms around the world at Christmastime
But say a prayer to pray for the other ones
At Christmastime

It's hard, but when you're having fun
There's a world outside your window
And it's a world of dread and fear
Where the only water flowing is the bitter sting of tears

And the Christmas bells that ring there
Are the clanging chimes of doom
Well tonight thank God it's them instead of you
And there won't be snow in Africa this Christmastime

The greatest gift they'll get this year is life
Oh, where nothing ever grows, no rain or rivers flow
Do they know it's Christmastime at all?

Here's to you, raise a glass for ev'ryone
Here's to them, underneath that burning sun
Do they know it's Christmastime at all?

Feed the world
Feed the world

Feed the world
Let them know it's Christmastime again
Feed the world
Let them know it's Christmastime again]

{Do They Konw Its Christmas, Bob Geldof}

“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulders; and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.” ~Isaiah 9:6

We can´t imagine any better day to pray for PEACE than Christmas Eve…Dona Nobis Pacem means “Grant Us Peace” or “Gebt uns Frieden”, as we say in Germany.

This world could deal with a lot more PEACE! Please engage in serious soul-searching and ask yourself:

“What type of world do we wish to hand over to our children? Or to our grandchildren?”
I want it to be a peaceful one. Please help to spread the world

Welcome to my fourth feast… I hope you´ll enjoy it. And please don´t forget to check out the Peace Globe HQ for the Blogblast for Peace on Dec 24th =)

Appetizer (feat. wine: Château Myrat Primeur Cru Classé, vin blanc, 2005)

What is one of your Christmas traditions?

A typical German tradition is to decorate the Christams tree in the early morning of December 24th… We hang up the Ornaments and usually drink a schnaps for each single ornament or bowl we have placed. YAY! Happy Hangover! =) This is the part of the tradition we skip - There are way too many ornaments and I can´t imagine to prepare the turkey that boozy. But we still keep up the tradition that the “landlord” is the one to place the tree topper on the tree.

Soup (feat. wine: Mas de Daumas Gassac Primeur, vin blanc, 2006)

Who is the easiest person on your list to buy presents for?

That´s easy! The newest member of our little family: our son Luis (8 months old)

Salad (feat. wine: Ausejour Becot Grand Cru, Saint-Emillion AOC, 2000)

What is your favorite Christmas scent?

I love the scent of candles right after blowing them out. I don’t necessarily associate this scent just with Christmas, but during Advent there are tons of candles in our home - so I smell it more often.

Main Course (feat. wine: Geyser Peak, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma County, California, 1997)
If you could give a fellow blogger a Christmas gift, who would it be and what would you give them?

I would love to give:
1.) Mimi - The most beautiful Peace-Globe Gallery world wide =)
2.) Bond - A Meet&Great with Robin Williams
3.) Lizza - The most beautiful Bikini the world can imagine (She knows why! Haha!)
4.) Morgen - The one and only “Meth Lab Easy-Bake” *grin*
5.) Caylynn - Group Fitness Music from Burntrax (Frohe Weihnachten!)
6.) Yaxlich - A huge collection of different fart-bombs
7.) Matt-Man - *Peep* (Sorry, this is not family-friendly *giggle*) and a self-refilling bottle of WIR
8.) Sonny -This “special wish” to come true very quick…
And a heart´s desire to be fulfilled for each of you!

Dessert (feat. wine: Corton Charlemagne, vin blanc, 2005)

What’s something on your Christmas wish list this year that you need (not just want)?

Unbelievable, but true: I don´t have any Christmas wish list… Our family disrelished the “shopping mania” it turned out to be in Germany a few years ago. We decided to go back to the roots and celebrate our Christmas with family and friends. The only person to recieve a present will be little Luis =)

Thanks for dining! Espresso anybody?
Merry Christmas to all of you!

And now…
… our moment of Homer J.:

I want the answers now or eventually!

Welcome to my (christmassy) mind! Today´s Thursday Thirteen brings you 13 random facts I love about (this) Christmas…

1.) Listening to Christmas songs like “White Christmas” by Bing Crosby - just because that´s exactly what I dream of every year!

2.) Visiting the traditional Christmas Markets - I love to watch the lights

The picture shows a market stall in Dusseldorf, Germany

3.) Preparing our Turkey *yummy*

Ooooops, wrong picture =) - let´s try this one:

5.) Searching for the perfect Christmas Tree (and decorating it, of course)

We decorate our Christmas Tree in the early morning of December 24th - So I´m going to show you a picture of our Tree later =)

6.) Watching Christmas movies… these three I could watch over and over:

7.) Drinking Mulled Wine *hick-up*

Ingredients :

1 Liter of red wine,
1/8 Liter water,
60 grams sugar,
1/4 stick cinnamon,
some rubbed nutmeg,
2 bay leaves,
3 cloves,
flavor with lemon or orange juice to taste,
Peelings of half a lemon or two or three lemon slices.

Preparation :

Bring the wine, sugar, spices and water to a boil.
Then let this mixture steep for 30 minutes.
Carefully reheat to just under the boiling point.

Cheers ! Enjoy carefully…

8.) Just one word: cOOkies

9.) Writing Christmas Cards. This is one of our 2006 blueprints… but we decided to take another =)

10.) Narrating Christmas Carrols to Mr L when it´s time to go to bed

11.) Decorating our home like I showed here

12.) Searching for “My first Christmas”-stuff - some of you know it´s Mr L´s 1st Cristmas this year

13.) The thought of spending a peaceful evening with my loved ones

Big hug - little kiss ♥,

And now…
… our moment of Homer J.:

Marge: Homer, you don’t have to pray out loud.
Homer: But he’s way the hell up there!
