To the left you can see a picture I´ve snapped of our Arcor internet connection. We´re glad to give a home to this lame snail. The current speed is 56k. It nearly feels like a wild ride in comparison to the connection during the last days. Connection? Oh, wait… we didn´t have any connection. However - the lady on the so called “hotline” told me they are working busily to get us back to the promised (and payed) broadband speed. Hopefully they are faster than the little snail.

Just in case you´ve missed me or my entries for the “Scavenger Hunt: Curves”, “Manic Monday: Track” and “Heads Or Tails?: Explore” - those entries are burried at least six feet under snail slime. I promise to play along next week and I´ll do my very best to catch up with the “5 Best Nights”, “Desktop MEME Redux”, “Jezebel MEME” and another cute little award I recieved.

I also planned to post the birthday cake on time, but the little snail… you know. However -
From snails to crumpets:

Homer’s Brain: There it is, Homer. The cleverest thing you’ll ever say and nobody heard it.
Homer: D’oh.

I’m young. Only 48 years young.I’m gonna vroooam around in my sport car when I’m 88, waving to all of you, leaving you in a dust cloud! What was that? You think that I’m rude?

Think positive: then you have to open one more bottle of Dom to wash down that dust in your throats…. *giggles*

When Linda of {this & that} joined our Pimp Your Blog Community some weeks ago I told her how much I love her pretty avatar. A bit later I loaded her template up and installed the widgets and gadgets. There was also a ticker to install in the footer-section. More precisely: a birthday ticker. A 60th birthday ticker. I still can´t believe it - but this beautiful lady turns 60 today! Now hop over and wish Linda a very very Happy Birthday!

Linda - I´d love to give you the matching CC Sunshade Blogset as a little birthday present. Just click on the picture above to see what this one can do for you. Please email me how you want it to be customized (daily MEMEs, etc.). I´ll also set it up for you, if you like. Same procedure as last time =). Happy, happy Birthday! Keep on rocking the Blogosphere! ♥

catch ya,

Sanni

Happy 63rd Birthday, Daddy!

My dad (or “Papili” as I call him) is the greatest and also happens to be one of the funniest person I know. I´m a huge fan of Dieter Nuhr, a German comedian and there isn´t anything Dieter Nuhr says that I don´t either roar or giggle over. My dad (sorry, Dieter!) is funnier.

He never fails to put a huge smile on my face and, besides the “usual stuff”, he helped me learn a couple of things:

  • I don´t need to be in awe just because he´s able to put a whole cookie into his mouth. I will be able to do so as well one day. Yup, definitely.
  • Never underestimate the power of a hot water bottle at the foot of your bed on a cold night.
  • Just because he used to tell stories about “when I was a boy” it doesn´t suit his little daughter to walk around telling people stories about when she “was a boy”.
  • Being pulled up the stairs in a sleeping bag and then being allowed to slide back down in said soft blankety parcel is extremely fun.
  • The best medicine when you feel nauseous is to put a wet towel on your belly
  • Sitting in the tree top of a beech tree is not eligible.
  • If I want to reach a certain goal, all I have to do is believe that I can do and it will happen.
  • He´ll love me, no matter what. And YES, I did LOTS of disagreeable stuff so far. He´s still there, loving me for who I am. Thank you, Papili!

This pretty cool guy is still young at heart. I´ll never forget the moment we entered Disney World some years ago. He seemed to transform into a five year old boy again within seconds.
Okay, there´s a huge human airbag decorating the place where other´s use to have a belly… but he´s still crisp after all these years *g* - in body and mind.

If I´ll ever make it to quiz show on TV my dad will be my “sports joker”. His knowledge is unbelievable. He is a walking and talking Wikipedia or Google. Whenever I have a (sports) questions I´d just ask my dad and give google a chance thereafter, just in case my dad would have no idea. Needless to say I never needed Google. =)

We love you, Papili! You´re the best dad, father-in-law and grandpa we can imagine. Your love for Luis, Frank, Jersey and me leaves us speechless every day. YAY! Happy Birthday to the bestest dad ever. May today be all that you hoped it would be.

It is my daddy´s birthday wish to take the entire family out to dinner, so we´ll be on our way to hug him soon. ♥

Have a great Monday, folks -

Lisa: I still can’t believe we escaped from those horrible vampires.
Homer: But it was worth it to get back our Super Sugar Crisp cereal.
[singing] Can’t get enough of that Sugar Crisp.
Marge: [driving] I’m having a hard time seeing. Homer, did you remember to put the fog lights in?
Homer: [singing to the same tune] ‘Cause I forgot to put the fog lights in.

… love you more than words can say …
