May 25

Yep, that´s what I am. Unbelievable, but true.
One and a half year ago I didn´t know anything about html and css, not to mention xml or php. Then, while I was pregnant, I found many many baby-homepages, designed by their mommies. I wanted one for our little baby, too. But I were not Sanni, the one who wants to have one´s cake and eat it, if I were satisfied with a so called “free” webspace. “Free” means looking like a billboard, ads and pop-ups whereever you look. So I absorbed a few books about webdesign and created a homepage for Luis. Before, just in case I would have been too blonde to design a website from scratch, I signed up at Blogger. Well, I did never use the Babyblog, but I made up my mind to blog myself: Coffee2go was born last July.

Today I love to play with blog-templates. You might have noticed I´ve changed my layout again tonight. I still adore those pretty 3-column layouts, but during the last stressful 2 weeks I myself was very annoyed how long it took to load my blog… and to enter the comment section when I wanted to reply to comments. There was way too much stuff inside this little coffee corner. So I went to “Choose New Template”, clicked on “Minima” and, at one fell swoop, all the crap vanished into thin air. I played with css and xml for a while and here it is: The new look of Coffee2go.

On Monday I showed you my blog´s html as a graph. This is what it looked like before the change…

… and thereafter:

What do the colors mean?

blue: for links (the A tag)
red: for tables (TABLE, TR and TD tags)
green: for the DIV tag
violet: for images (the IMG tag)
yellow: for forms (FORM, INPUT, TEXTAREA, SELECT and OPTION tags)
orange: for linebreaks and blockquotes (BR, P, and BLOCKQUOTE tags)
black: the HTML tag, the root node
gray: all other tags

The Nav-Bar on top gives you access to my Graphic Guestbook (Oh, yeah, baby… paint for me!), some photos, Blogrolls and stuff like that. And you can email me if you want to.
My former template was created for “classic” (old Blogspot-Blogger). The new one is xml - woo-hoo, I´m able to use Blogger´s new features. Okay, I have to add: New to ME. I can label my posts *front-flip* AND I´ve added a label cloud to my sidebar *back-flip*.
If you are interested to change your flat-list labels to a label cloud, too, feel free to email me so I can assist you by sending (and setting up, if necessary) the code.

I apologize to all my readers who have subscribed to my feed in google-reader and other news aggregators for blowing up their feed-reader yesterday. Blogger seems to have the vice to consider old posts as new releases if you add labels later. Whoops, sorry. Won´t happen again, all my posts are labeled.

Plus I´ve added a little rss-icon to the top of my sidebar, so those of you who haven´t already can subscribe to my feed in your feedreader easily. At the bottom of my rss-feed you´ll find another tiny button to add my feed to any reader if yours is not displayed already. Have fun sucking my feed! *LOL*

To give those ones, who already knew me BEFORE my “magical” transformation to a geek, a really good laugh:

Let´s complete the illustration “Sanni the GEEK” by telling you that I´m currently working on setting up my own website and shop for blog design, blog makeover and header design services. Grand opening will be on June, 1st 2007.
Well, since this post has been “a bit technical” let´s continue with this:

Our incredible Cyber Cruise Captain Mrs Lifecruiser herself invited me and my big butt to join the Alexa Train. I think this one is a good one, because it is actually a support for my blog and I thank her for that. The Alexa Train is supposedly aimed to increase your Alexa rank, but also to abet you in finding new fellow bloggers. This is how it works:

If your website is listed in the Enjoyable Finds category below, then you need to:

“~Start Copying Here~” and copy all the things listed without removing the links (Of course, the train would be no use without those links).

Move all the sites labeled “Enjoyable finds” to the list labeled “Oldies”.

Add 5 sites that you want to include in the train under Enjoyable Finds and make their “Visit My Site” link like this: http://redirect.alexa.com/redirect? along with this add the url of the blog you are choosing.

Example: http://redirect.alexa.com/redirect?coffee2go.blogspot.com (I used my blog as example)

Then invite them to join the train.

Visit all the listed sites using the “Visit My Site” link. That’s not much work! Remember, if you plant good seeds they will also grow good and look at your increased Alexa ranking next week!

Welcome to Manic Monday Edition #17:GRAPHIC

Graphics (from Greek γραφικός; see -graphy) are visual presentations on some surface, such as a wall, canvas, computer screen, paper, or stone to brand, inform, illustrate, or entertain. Examples are photographs, drawings, Line Art, graphs, diagrams, typography, numbers, symbols, geometric designs, maps, engineering drawings, or other images. Graphics often combine text, illustration, and color. Graphic design may consist of the deliberate selection, creation, or arrangement of typography alone, as in a brochure, flier, poster, web site, or book without any other element. Clarity or effective communication may be the objective, association with other cultural elements may be sought, or merely, the creation of a distinctive style.

Graphics can be functional or artistic. Graphics can be imaginary or represent something in the real world. The latter can be a recorded version, such as a photograph, or an interpretation by a scientist to highlight essential features, or an artist, in which case the distinction with imaginary graphics may become blurred.

The graph(ic) shows Coffee 2 go´s sitegraph - a visual presentation of my source-code,
combining text, illustration, and color - it´s functional (for my Graphic Designer - Me) and it looks a bit artistic ;) - you see, Wiki didn´t lie! *smiles*What do the colors mean?

blue: for links (the A tag)
red: for tables (TABLE, TR and TD tags)
green: for the DIV tag
violet: for images (the IMG tag)
yellow: for forms (FORM, INPUT, TEXTAREA, SELECT and OPTION tags)
orange: for linebreaks and blockquotes (BR, P, and BLOCKQUOTE tags)
black: the HTML tag, the root node
gray: all other tags

For those of you who are not interested in webdesign and give a sh*% on my graph(ic):
Feel free to paint a picture into Coffee2go´s Graphic Guestbook:

Have you been to Mo today? He´s the brilliant mind behind Manic Monday and a true friend to me. If you thought there´s a lot of stuff in my blog… visit Mo and find out how many posts it took to produce a sitegraph(ic) like (t)his:
