134-365: Fired

05-14-09 | Snapped by Sanni | Filed under moving |
Yesterday the owner of the < irony on > fabulous < /irony off > moving company came around for a second time to take a look at the reasons we kept on bothering him with uncountable phone calls, etc. What can I say? He began being RUDE (go figure!) and I threw him and his guys out! Beaker (thrown unwrapped into one of the moving boxes) is not the only one thinking this was the best and (overdue) decision ever…

Unpacking more moving boxes. I still can’t believe how much stuff is broken, damaged and ruined.

131-365: One Happy Baby

We managed to finish room #1 - the kids finally do have a place to sleep and play. Needless to say we did “their job”. The “moving professionals” did not unpack any of the 18 boxes or place any furniture. However, I’m happy to be finished here… somewhat relieved Luis and Lily have a place to stay.

I’m sorry to inform you that, although you mean a lot to me, I am not willing to share any of my chocolates! Why? Well, the boss of Mr “Master Joiner” informed us, the guy did install the tv holder correctly. The only explanation he can imagine is that Jersey did run against the tv and it fell off that way!!!! (???) Could you please, please let me know HOW IN THE WORLD my dog should be able to pull down a tv from a wall, especially a tv that’s bolted together with a correctly installed holder??? Inform Vegas - Jersey so needs to get her own show!
Ed. Note: After I freaked out “Mr Boss” offered to build up our new kitchen for free in addition to giving us a new dryer. Not that I want any of these guys to even touch our new kitchen…

129-365: Off-The-Wall

… in the truest sense! The guy from the moving comapny, that was introduced to us as the master joiner tried to re-install our flat tv in the living room. Too bad, he wasn’t able to read the instructions for the tv holder. The result: tv fell OFF THE WALL (!!!). Any further questions? No? Me, neither.

128-365: Last View From The Patio

Frank drove back to our old home to check how the guys from the “professional” *snort* moving company did leave the house and found out they didn’t even bring our whole stuff over here. I “borrowed” the photo he took while he was there b/c all I could come up with are additional horrible photos of damaged furniture and such… yes, I am about <-that-> close to scream… and cry.

127-365: HORRIBLE

Our bedroom. The moving boxes are placed exactly where our bed should be right now… THIS IS HORRIBLE! Do you see a bed somewhere in there? No? Me, neither! The move (we booked and paid for a full service) should be finished right now, including EVERYTHING, like re-establishing furniture and unpacking the boxes. No bed, no place to sleep, no nothing - and the dilettantes guys are gone for today.
Anybody beam us out of here NOW… pretty please…?

126-365: The Kids’ Room

I will never forget the days I painted this room. I was sooooo pregnant I did have a hard time not to paint it with my huge belly. I guess it’ll be much easier to paint the new rooms in the new home… *giggles*
The “emergency bags” are packed, my parents just left with the kids - now we’re waiting for the crew of the moving company. Yes, we’re definitely ready to leave all this behind.

125-365: Pa amb Aioli

05-05-09 | Snapped by Sanni | Filed under moving |
Tonight’s dinner: My favorite Spanish food - Pa amb Aioli. I cannot leave Majorca without having it at least once (or twice).
Fun fact: We’re eating tonight’s dinner from “Winnie Pooh paper plates” b/c tomorrow will be the big day: We’re finally going to move to the new home. I did sign the contract with the moving company today. The guys will be here tomorrow in the morning at 7 a.m. - and since I don’t want to wake up the kids by running the dishwasher, I went for paper plates. Is this weird…?
