[ Some of my favorite childhood memories are linked to my parents' huge kitchen where we used to sit and enjoy our family dinners. One of our family's traditions was eating together at least once a day. Another tradition included the magic word "Sonntagsbraten".

[ Picture shows a part of the wallpainting in one of the kids' dentist's rooms. The whole medical practice is decorated with beautiful wallpaintings like this. The kids love it and so do I. There's always a new detail to discover, making you forget about waiting for a dentist. ]
Today marked the day of Luis’ second appointment after the accident at the kindergarten. I’m happy to report the tooth fairy does not have to stop by earlier than she planned. Gums and teeth have recovered. *phew*
We also made and appointment for Lily. It was her first. She watched Luis’ behavior very intrigued and decided to open her mouth and react just like he did. Both kids did such a great job they were rewarded with presents from the treasure chest big time.
Next appointment will be in 6 months. One thing down.

[ Captain Luis had an appointment at the dentist this morning.
While we picked him up from the kindergarten yesterday evening, our little guy reported he fell from a table while playing tag with another little boy.
He moaned about head- and toothache, but was proud he didn't get caught in the game (!!!).
Of course I was so worried that I called the dentist immediately. We were told to apply pain meds if necessary and stop by early in the morning. The doctor checked Luis' teeth - TG we did not have to call the tooth fairy... looks like everything is okay. *phew*
After the appointment we took Lily and Luis out for a walk at the Rhine shore. Since it was too windy to picnic outside, we had a cozy indoor picnic in the Mini. Maybe we'll have a chance to savor a "real" picnic after the upcoming dental check-up on March, 15th... ]

[ I could hug the whole world. The "lazy" weekend did me so good. We spent the whole weekend at home, doing what we wanted to do, including DVD afternoons on the couch - watching Disney-Pixar movies with the kids, suggling on the sofa, reading, playing board games, baking cake, taking a relaxing bubble bath,...
Luis didn't even make an issue out of hair washing - which usually is an unpleasant undertaking. Thumbs up, my Captain!
I enjoyed the weekend home with my family so much I cancelled the planned "girls night out with my boys" this evening. I just didn't feel like leaving this cozy home and go out.
Instead I prefered drinking tea and watching the snow flakes dancing outside
after I kissed Luis and Lily "Good Night".

I stored this ice wine for a special evening - nothing specific. Tonight I will open the bottle to reward me for continuing to code this complicated website for this even more complicated customer.

I know that all in the world is not rainbows and chocolate milk and it comes to days like this every now and than - but… today’s a day to award “the Æ’uçki~g worst day of the year”.

[The cherries fit perfectly to Chili Hot Chocolate - and absolutely not to my diet, just like the hot chocolate...
but heck... we all need some chocolate after yesterday's horror trip to the ER.
I will report about our brave little Captain Luis and the whole splatter on the main blog about as soon as both, chcolate and shock, will be gone.]

[Wallpainting at the pediatrist's waiting room]
Lily has had her “U4″ exam today. She weighs 6,5 kg and is 62,5 cm. Her head girth is 41 cm. The doc says the little princess is in top condition. We’ve also made an additional color duplex sonography, which turned out to have a great result, too: Everything’s alright.
Can you hear our relief? I bet you can…
Now please keep your fingers crossed our brave little girl will deal well with the 7 jabs she got today, too.
