49-365: Curling - Women’s Round Robin #4

02-18-10 | Snapped by Sanni | Filed under TV |

[ The double trouble is still ill and I'm on their nightwatch. While they are sleeping safe and sound I spend my night watching the Olympics. Now aired: Women's curling - Canada (skip: Cheryl Bernard) vs. Germany (skip: Andrea Schoepp). It's fun to watch, especially since I know the rules from one of our wii games *g*
The session ended 6:5 for Canada and their gorgeous skip Cheryl Bernard. GO CANADA!!!

Still can't believe Cheryl Bernard is 43 years old... I wonder if it's just the ice that keeps her wrinkle-free. If so I'll have to spend some hours in an ice rink instead of on the wii :-) ]

44-365: Winter Olympics Vancouver 2010

02-13-10 | Snapped by Sanni | Filed under TV |

[ We watched the opening ceremony for the Winter Olympics 2010 in Vancouver. The ceremony was aired live from 3 am this morning in our part of the world.

I had goose bumps all over my body. The goose bumps made me discover parts of my body I wasn't aware of - and I had goose bumps on my goose bumps and goose bumps on those additional goose bumps on my newly discovered body parts:

From the opening section, when Johnny Lyall slided down a slope, while people held torches in the shape of  the maple leaf and the dates and locations of previous Winter Olympic games were recalled in voiceover, over the National Anthem, the Welcome by the First Nations, the Parade of the Nations, the Athlete Tribute Song performed by Nelly Furtado and Bryan Adams to the Landscape of Dream, over to the Entry of the Flag and the Lightning of the Cauldron... we experienced PURE JOY!!!

One of my favorite parts was K.D. Lang singing "Hallelujah".

The minute's silence in commemoration of the Georgian luger Nodar Kumaritashvili brought tears to my eyes. May he rest in peace. We keep his family, friends and team members in our thoughts and prayers. ]

27-365: DSDS 2010

01-27-10 | Snapped by Sanni | Filed under TV |

[ Tonight on our TV: DSDS (Pop Idol) - the last casting show of this season. As usual, we enjoyed watching the show. We're also proud to announce there's a new fan in our family: Miss Elli, my mom, got finally caught by DSDS. She didn't miss a single episode and also looks forward to watching the recall-show on Saturday. One of my personal highlights has been the "shit"-piggy bank of jury member Dieter Bohlen. He tossed a Euro-coin into the piggy bank whenever he said "Scheisse". Well, since he's known for the extended use of the word "shit", I'm pretty sure the piggy bank now contains lots of money to donate to charity. ]

[Spend my Saturday evening on the couch huddled against my new wobbie, watched "Supertalent 2009" (Germany's Got Talent). The Mongolian Khommei duo, Khosbayar Dangaa, voice box singer, and his comrade Tsolmon Enkhbayar, playing the horsehead guitar, caught my attention. ]

Watching “Bones” - one of my favorite TV shows - while coding a website for a client. Well, I should stop watching or quit coding now. Okay… you got me! I’ll take a break… from coding. Who guessed it?
