[ Today's picture was taken on a trip to Middelburg. We fell in love with the lavish 17th and 18th century merchant houses and storehouses. The canals reminded me a little of Amsterdam.  ]

[ Captain Luis proudly presents "Kibbelinge" - his favorite food whenever we're in the Netherlnds.
The beer battered fish filets are served with sauce remoulade. We also indulged ourselves with French fries (sate sauce and mayonnaise... how I love the combination) and frikandel (sausage). Yes, we were hungry indeed after spending a few hours of treasure hunting on the beach. ]

[ The lighthouse stands prominently at the entrance to the village of Westkapelle, next to the hostel we will be stying in for the next dys. The lighthouse is the remains of a church that burned down in the 18th century. In the 19th century, a light was added to the top so that it could serve as a lighthouse. Today our brave group climbed up the 196 stairs to the top. The view was overwhelming. ]
