[ Tulips and daffodils are a great mood boost, as well as bright apparel and good healthy food, like fresh fruits, veggies and nuts. These foods are known to raise the level of much needed serotonin. While chocolate and sugar quickly raise the blood's level of insulin, you're also kind of dropped into a mood hole after consuming sweets - which is definitely NOT what I need right now.
Since my physical health does not allow me following my usual exercise schedule, I also try spending at least one hour a day outside going for a walk, or, if going out is not an option - thanks to heart rhythm disturbance - I try to fight SAD with light therapy.
Although the winter season 2009/2010 seems to be neverending I feel surprisingly well...
at least when speaking of mental health. ]
