[A few days ago we were invited to attend the annual photo-shooting at the kindergarten. The photographer took pics of the kindergarten-kiddos in the morning... appointment for sibblings was at 2pm.
Obviously the kids didn't like the "professional" photographer at all - this is hardly surprising. Have you ever tried making anyone smile a bright smile for a photo by YELLING at said person...? Me, neither. ]

[Every year by the end of November I find myself shopping new decorations for the Advent season - although I know we already do have enough stuff to decorate 3 houses... I can't help myself.
Well, this year I do have a somehow good excuse. It's the first year Luis can assist me and/or do handicrafts all by himself... *whew*]

[Challenge: Find one positive trait for each letter in your kids' names for each of your kids. Luis can be described as "liebevoll" (loving), "unkompliziert" (uncomplicated), "ideenreich" (imaginative) and "sanftmütig" (gentle). Lily is "lebensfroh" (merry), "interessiert" (interested), "liebevoll" (loving) and "eynfühlsam" (sensitive). And yes, I did have to cheat on Lily's "y" - as the German language doesn't feature any adjective beginning with "y". "Yoghurt-loving" or "yellow" weren't an option at all...]

[Reading short stories from one of my favorite German Authors: Gaby Hauptmann. She's a hoot. I have read all of her books and enjoy this one in particular because the stories mostly come with an unexpected fun ending. What more could a pmsy girl whish for...? Oh... wait. Yes, indeed. I'm out of chocolate. Could you please put some Reese's Peanut Butter Cups in the mail...? *SMOOCH*]

[Aged 35 I find myself confrontated with "homework" again. I'm attending a workshop named "Starke Eltern - Starke Kinder" ("Strong Parents - Strong Kids") at the kindergarten. Each week we get which comes in mostly 2 parts. Part one this week: Satisfy at least one of your ants / needs. The first thing coming to my mind is "Alone-time, a hot bath, flavored bath salt." Mission #1 completed. ]

St. Martin’s Day is celebrated in the evening of November 11th in Germany.
If my little wacky little brain doesn’t play tricks on me, Belgium (the dutch-speaking Flanders), some parts of the Netherlands and Austria do also celebrate tonight. on the procession where kids hold paper laterns and sing songs about St. Martin. A man dressed as St. Martin 8in our case: a 7 y.o. boy) rides on a horse in front of the procession.
On the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month we also joined our friends celebrating Remembrance Day and observed a moment of silence… as we reflected on what we have got and remembered those who sacrified themselves. For our freedom.
