… I AM alive, but terribly sick.
The whole fun began on Tuesday: Early labor pain…
There had been some visible, but minor contradictions during the CTG at the last monthly pregnancy checkup. That´s why I first thought the contradictions are the typical lightning contradictions - I supposed Hamster 2.0 making some busy efforts to settle deeper into my pelvis.
Uhm… okay… I was SO wrong. Shortly after I felt contractions every 10 minutes apart and a cramp-like sensation in the thighs: preterm labor!
To keep a long story short: Hamster 2.0 is fine (TG!) and still inside
. We´re doing everything possible to halt the preterm labor:
- Drinking lots of fluids and lying down on my left side to improve circulation to the uterus.
- Lots of magnesium sulfate (IV) and other meds.
- Relaxation and breathing techniques
The cervix is dilated to 3 so far. We´re expecting continued bed rest will be recommended. This sounds quite hard to a “nesting” mommy(-to-be).
I wake up every morning feeling energetic, raring to attack dust bunnies under the couch and arrange Hamster 2.0´s outfits according to color, as well as Luis´ building bricks.
However, I´ll do my very best to rest and give Hamster 2.0 a snuggly place inside for at least 4 more weeks (any day before we´ll get an injection of potent steroids to speed Hamster 2.0´s lung maturity).
Please keep your fingers crossed, peeps. ♥
Special thanks to all of you!

Coffee and cake anyone?
And now…
… our moment of Homer J.:

Homer: Marge, I’m going to miss you so much. And it’s not just the sex! It’s also the food preparation.

Hi Sanni. I hope the cramp-like sensation will not bother you again. I’m very happy that your little one is doing well. I will pray for you and your baby. May you have a safe and healthy pregnancy.
