Happy 1st Birthday, Luis!
We love you more than words can say…

We´ll celebrate Luis 1st Birthday today. I still can´t believe our little baby will be a busy toddler in a few hours. It´s 01:50 am in our part of the world right now - and I guess I won´t get much sleep tonight. I´m sitting here on the patio remembering today one year ago… it feels like yesterday. I was awake, too. I was way too exited because I knew I´ll give birth to the cute little package waving during the last 4-D ultrasound. I asked myself: What will he look like? How will it feel to cuddle him? How will he smell? Today it feels as if he´s always been there and I can´t visualize how my life has been without Luis… we so so love him. He will always be our little baby =)So this weeks TT will be a Special Edition:

13 facts about LUIS:

1.) Luis was born on April 26th, 2006 at 09:57 a.m. (per sectio cesare) in Duesseldorf, Germany.

2.) Luis was 50 cm (19.69 inch) tall, weighed 3.130 g (6.89 lb) and had a head circumference of 36 cm (14.17 inch)

3.) Luis nickname has been “Hamster” until he was born. Frank and I were not able to agree on a name. After weeks of… let´s say “meditation” (or argumentation with a pregnant bitch) we reduced our list to four: Robin, Maximilian, Laurin and Luis. There no golden mean in four - so we decided to wait until we see our Hamster. He looked like “Luis” =)
Luis middlename is Franklin - just because he´s “the small version” of his Daddy Frank.

4.) He´s got blue eyes (Daddy´s) and blond hair (like mine when I was a little one). Well, there wasn´t much hair on Luis head during the first half year of his life. His hair is growing now. Blond and curly.

5.) Luis has had his first solid food on August 18th, 2006. We´ll never forget this carrot-massacre. Having 7 teeth he now eats everything except bananas. He loves noodles and warm ciabatta (Italian bread). Feeding our Labrador Jersey when he´s had enough is one of his favorite hobbies.

6.) He´s been on 4 vacations until now: Allgaeu, Germany - Oostende, Belgium - Corfu, Greece - and to the Netherlands.

7.) Luis started to crawl on Oct 16th, 2006 and sat alone for the first time on Oct 26th, 2006. Now he´s fast like a shot. He first stood on Dec 2nd, 2006 and did his first shaky step on the 10th of January 2007… but crawling means so much more fun to him… so he decided to wait a bit until he´ll start to walk alone, but he´s practising every day… walking around the table =)

8.) Luis loves to play. He is always thrilled by the package of his new toys - the most interesting toy. He loves to unwrap presents. His current favorite toy is a blue rubber ball. He throws the ball veeeeery acurately - much more precise than I do (OK, I confess: This is not too difficult because I´m a lously thrower… but I´m always amazed by his direct hits!)

9.) Luis 1st Christmas was a blast. He loved the Christmas tree, all the lights and presents of course. Did I mention the Christmas songs already? No? Well, we have a very musical baby.

10.) During the last year he´s grown 27 cm (10.63 inch) and gained 7.120 g (15.66 lb)

11.) Luis has “killed” about 1.825 diapers so far…

12.) He says “Mama” (mommy), “Papa” (daddy), “Ball” (ball), “Da!” (like “this!”) and babbles like a World Champion.

13.) He´s the sunshine of our life. We fall in love with him every day. Again and again.
